"Reach slightly before 11am and there was tables aplenty. But thereafter customers streamed in almost continuously. Restaurant was almost full before 12pm. Recommend to reach slightly earlier to skip the wait. Service was great and they were responsive to certain questions about the menu and also needs throughout the meal. The fish was done nicely crispy with the spicy sauce adding the spicy punch. They were considerate to serve the sauce separately. The rice was an absolute hit and portion was generous enough for at least 3-4 pax All in all, definitely value to money considering the food quality and service provided Will definitely visit again when in Batam."

"Been tried to visit this place twice for dinner, but was told it was very full, probably due to its popularity for break-fast during this month of Ramadan. Finally, brave my self to go without booking, I got the outside table, which was very acceptable to me. Ordered several nice looking dishes. They were delicious & it didn't take very long to be served, considering it's their peak time. The chicken sate was thick but tender. The "bakul" of rice was choked full of ingredients on it. Grilled fish was juicy & full of spices...yummy The anti climax was the tea, which was using tea bag, in a typical plain coffee cup. I always love the fragrance Indonesia tea, but not this kind of tea bag. All their dishes were served on a very nice, although modern plates, but with traditional pattern. Very appropriate with their name, Bhinneka. However this doesn't not reflect on their tea cup. Nonetheless, I had a great dinner"

"Chance upon this highly rated restaurant and decided to give it a try. We arrived just a quarter before 8, and the place appeared crowded. Despite, we managed to get seated outdoor at the smoking area with no air-conditioning. For a party of 3, we ordered the Bandeng Sambal Terasi (milkfish with shrimp sambal paste), Bandeng Sambal Matah Bali (milkfish with Balinese sambal salsa), Tahu Isi Sayur (stuffed tofu with vegetables), Daun Singkong Tumis (stir-fried cassava leaves), Udang Bakar Madu (grilled prawns with honey) and Longtong Cap Go Meh Ayam (compressed rice cake dish). Despite being a break-fast timing for local community, the dishes were served in less than 15 minutes of wait. The milkfish was small in size, the reason why we ordered two types. They were fresh, fried to crisp and went well with the different types of sambal. For the cassava leaves, they did it well as well, though we do have much point of comparisons (since this dish is not widely available). For the stuffed tofu, it was another delicious dish, tasted like the Japanese vegetable tempura stuffed inside a tofu. The tofu went well with the dipping sauce that came along with it. The prawns were fresh and tasty too, well-grilled with no burnt taste. For the lontong, it was just normal but I like the perkedel (aka begedil) that came along with it. Overall, it was a great dining experience, but the non-perfect score was due to the outdoor environment where the cigarette smoke was too overwhelming for non-smokers. (The smoking area can be very distracting for non-smokers, if you are allergic to cigarette smoke, do opt for the indoor seatings)."
